Crock Pot Chicken & Dumplings

As a fairly "new" mom, I'm a huge fan of quick and easy meals, especially ones that allow me to use my crock pot. My husband is a huge fan of this recipe and anything that makes him happy, makes me happy!

Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings:
1 Lb Shredded Chicken
2 Cans Chicken Broth
1 Large Can Cream of Chicken Soup
3 Medium Potatoes
1 Can Biscuits

With your crock pot on high, put the broth and the cream of chicken soup in and whisk it together so that it's all incorporated.

Add the chicken and potatoes and cover.
Let cook for 3.5 Hours.

After the 3.5 hours have passed, cut the biscuits into small pieces and add to the pot.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Cook in additional 30 minutes.

Serve alone of on top of biscuits.

Add carrots, peas and celery and make it a chicken pot pie!

Hope you enjoy!

Pond's BB+ Review!

I am not a BB cream person... at all! I have very oily skin and prefer and super matte, full coverage foundation for everyday wear. But, when influenster sent me the new Ponds BB+, I was shocked at how much I liked it. It's got amazing coverage, great matte finish, and it smells beautiful. So different from other drugstore BB creams and at a wonderful price. I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a great coverage BB Cream!

(Save 1/2 for garnishing)
1 Large Lemon (or lemon juice)

Additional Ingredients:
Chopped onion
Shredded lettuce
Sour cream

2. Bake for 7-10 minutes until it just BARELY turns golden brown.

3. Boil your chicken and shred when ready

4. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into the shredded chicken and then add the remaining taco seasoning.
Mix with a fork.

4. Pile into crust, making sure it's packed in.
Add 1/2 of the shredded cheese.

5.Bake for 15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.

6. Let cool for 5 minutes. Top with more cheese, lettuce, tomato, salsa, and sour cream or any desired topping.

Mommy Makeover: Getting in Shape!

My weight has always been in the forefront of my life. I've always been known as the heavy girl or the "chubby" girl. The smallest i've ever been was a size 8. I remember in high school thinking that boys didn't like me because of the way I looked and because I was so self-concious about it, they expected me to be easy (which I wasn't... I'm proud to say that I was celibate until the day I married my husband! So, he really is my one and only!).

When I began my TTC journey almost 4 years ago, my starting weight was 225 lbs. I was a wreck. Addicted to Pepsi and eating junk. But I knew if I wanted to be a mother, I needed to lose the weight. So, I cut out all soda, started a work out routine and by the time I began clomid in 2011, I was down to 190 lbs. Right after I had my boys, I weight 175 lbs and felt AMAZING. I looked so good! Laziness beat me and here I am today.

I am no longer willing to live this way. I am unhappy, ashamed, and very self-concious about the way I look. That's enough. I can't do this to myself anymore. I need to think about my kids and how being so out of shape and unhealthy is detrimental to our lives together.

So, here goes nothing... Yesterday, I started my new lifestyle! It consists of being more active overall, eating 3 regular meals at "normal" times, and i've incorporated a workout regimen (Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, Dancing with the Stars Cardio, and Just Dance video game).

My goal weight is 170 lbs. and just to be overall healthy. I'll take it step by step. After i've reached 170 lbs, i'll go from there and set the next goal.

So, as I sit here typing this with a caffeine withdrawal migraine, i'm ready to do this! I will be updating every Monday with videos and on this blog.

More Babies?

I've decided to start a weekly (or maybe 2x's a week) Ask Edith series on my youtube account. The first topic in Ask Edith is one of the things I get asked about the most...When will we have more babies? Are we TTC yet? and etc.

What do you think is an adequate time to wait to try to conceive a baby after the birth of a child?

I Have Died Everyday Waiting for You...

When I was TTC, this song came out and I felt like it described every single step in my journey. And now, exactly a year from the date I found out I was pregnant, I have never in my life, been as happy as I am now. I love these boys more than I can even explain. They mean more to me than anything ever has or ever will. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for them.
So, I share with you my TTC Song:

A Thousand Years:

Heartbeats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I love you for a thousand more
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I love you for a thousand more
One step closer
One step closer
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I love you for a thousand more.

What is your TTC Song?

Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation Review & Demo!

3 weeks ago, I ran out of my very favorite Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. Foundation is not something that I take lightly. I have very oily, acne prone skin with huge areas of hyper-pigmantation so finding a matte finish, full coverage foundation has always been hard. When I walked into Sephora and saw the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation, I was intrigued. It claimed to be a 24 hour wear, transfer resistant, full coverage, lightweight (an oxymoron if you ask me), fragrance free and oil free foundation and it literally sounded like the perfect foundation.

Well... i'm here to tell you... IT IS! This foundation is by far, the best foundation I have ever used. It does EVERYTHING it claims and has cut down my foundation "routine" by more than half! The best part about it? After 15 years of a routine of moisturizer, color corrector, concealer, foundation and powder... all I wear now is this foundation. It's such an amazing finish and the coverage is AMAZING. I can't tell you how many compliments i've gotten in "real" life and on pictures about how "flawless" my face looks. I take no credit for that, it goes all to this foundation. It's super lightweight and doesn't even feel like i'm wearing too much (It didn't even feel this light while wearing the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation!).  It covers every blemish, spot, and problem area (no concealer needed for this Mommy's dark circles!)

In this video, I show you my before and after and you get to see what my face looks like after wearing the foundation for 8 hours without touch ups! (Please be kind... my makeup free face is kind of scary!)

This foundation can be found at Sephora but, is currently sold out everywhere due to the popularity! If you happen to find it, don't hesitate! This product is amazing!

Here are some pictures of me wearing the foundation (keep in mind, NONE of these pictures were edited (I use a Canon Rebel T3i for pictures and video and I have studio lighting)! They are straight from my camera.

Here is the video review! I hope you guys enjoyed my review of the foundation and found it at least a little helpful. If you try it or have already, let me know what you think of it!

Love, Edith

Oreo Fluff Brownies!

These are by far the fastest, easiest, most delicious brownies ever!

Here's what you need:
-2 Boxes of Brownie Mix
(use any kind you prefer... I used the Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate: You will be mixing it exactly how it says on the back of the box)
-A jar of marshmallow fluff
-A package of Oreos
(again, any kind you prefer)

First, preheat your oven to 350*.
Then, line a cupcake pan with cupcake paper cups.
Then, take one oreo cookie and smear some fluff on top and then place another oreo cookie on top of it, creating a mini sandwich.
Place the oreo sandwiches into the cupcake tin.
Pour the brownie batter directly on top of the cookie, smearing it so that it covers the sides.
Bake for 20 minutes and

You've got an awesome, yummy, and quick treat!

Hope You Enjoy!

Isaiah and Isaac's 4 Month Update!

Today, the boys had their 4 month pediatrician appointment. I was totally dreading it as they were going to be having 4 more vaccinations (DTaP, Hib, IPV, PCV, Rota) and I hate seeing and hearing the boys cry. Anyway, we discussed several things with our (awesome) pediatrician:

- Starting Solids:
Our doctor said we can start incorporating pureed foods and introduce a new one every few days. She suggested starting with veggies and then doing fruits. As far as how often, she said to feed them up to 3 times a day and offer a bottle in between.
They are currently starting to turn from back to belly and visa versa, they are starting to sit up on their own, babble and make cooing sounds, smile and other facial expressions.
Isaac is weighing in at 15 lbs 3 oz and measuring 27"
Isaiah is weighing in at 16 lbs 3 oz and measuring 27"

They are doing super great and i'm excited to have happy growing babies!

DIY: Lipstick Holder

I was sick and tired of owning so many lipsticks and only using a few because it was such a hassle to go through my piles of unorganized lipsticks! So, after searching online for lipstick holders (which by the way, are UBER expensive and don't hold very many lipsticks), I decided to make my own.

I swore I was recording this process but, when I finished, I realized I never pressed record :-( So i'll do a basic step by step explanation here on how to create your own lipstick holder!

This cost me $5.00 to make and I simply used stuff around the house to decorate it!

The first thing you will need are these containers:

These can be found at your local Dollar Tree store. I purchased 5 for a 'set'.

I dumped out all of the products inside (I now have enough cotton swabs and balls for the rest of my life) and cut the lid off; cutting as closely to the base as possible.
(this is made of very thin plastic so just using regular scissors will work perfectly).

Next, taking a hot glue gun, glue the 5 plastic containers together length wise.
(you can take the labels off the containers but I didn't bother).

After you've hot glued the containers, line the outsides and bottom with card stock and glue on the outer edges of the plastic containers.
(you could even use poster board but I had card stock handy so I used that)

Then, I simply decorated it with ribbon and made a bow out of things I had laying around and TA-DA!

I was able to store, not only lipsticks, but lipglosses as well!
Each container has 4 compartments and each compartment holds 4 standard sized lipsticks.. so you can tailor this to how ever many you need.

I hope you enjoyed this super easy and fun DIY!
If you decide to make one of these, please send me a picture!

Peace and Love,

Our First Baby Food!

Today, the boys are 4 months old and we started on pureed baby food! I've done TONS of research on it and went with my gut as to whether they were ready or not. So, after lots of thought, we decided to start with sweet potatoes! I got a Baby Bullet for my baby shower and have been so excited to try it. We knew we wanted to make our own homemade baby food simply because we didn't like how much sugar and other ingredients jarred baby food had and, how expensive it could get. A jar of organic baby food runs around .76 cents each.

Baby Bullet System:
Available at Wal-Mart, Target, Kohls, and Amazon
(click on the store name to be taken to the link)
I bought 4 semi-large sweet potatoes for $2.80 at Wal-Mart.
Placed them on a baking sheet covered with aluminum foil and baked them for 30 minutes at 400*, then rotated them and baked for another 30 minutes.
Let them sit for 30 minutes and then peel. They are super easy to peel and it comes right off!

Next, I cut up 2 of the sweet potatoes into small chunks and placed them in my Baby Bullet.

I added 8 oz. of formula to the sweet potatoes; however, you can add water or breastmilk. This helps make the sweet potatoes creamy and smooth.

Blend away...
It doesn't take long at all for the baby bullet to make the sweet potatoes puree!

I used the first batch of sweet potatoes (the two smaller ones) to fill my freezer stash. The baby bullet came with 2 freezer bins with pre-measured portions.

Let them sit for a little while until they've cooled and then they are ready for the freezer!
When they are frozen solid, take them out and the portions pop right out of the plastic containers. Put the frozen sections into a ziplock back (with the date written on the outside) and then, you can use the freezer tray for your next food.

(when you're ready to use your freezer stash, simply take one portion out and microwave in a bowl)

The next batch of sweet potatoes filled my refrigerator cups and 4 other cups!

22 Servings of baby food cost me $2.80! Not only is it an inexpensive project but it's fun! I had such a blast making the food and it was SUPER easy.

Final Verdict:

Peek A Boo

When playing Peek A Boo with twins, it's vary likely one will love it and the other... not so much!

She Bangs...

I spent the majority of my day yesterday (a snow day so no work for this girl) working on this blog, organizing my videos (notice how they all have thumbnails? It took me forever), filming videos and even worked! But, on days like that, I always have a little too much time on my hands and do things I probably shouldn't! So, I got a little scissor happy and cut my bangs (I also cut layers into it).

As most of you know, i'm a licensed hairstylist (and makeup artist) and have always had different looks! I've been tons of different colors, all different styles and every length in between. I mean, come on, wouldn't you expect a stylist to be crazy like that?

This was in 2008... the first time I had blunt bangs!

Too bad it's black in white because I was almost blonde in this picture!

Dark and curly

lighter and straight

short and spunky

my "go to" style...

side swept bangs

I love doing different things to my hair! I get tons of questions on my videos as to what my favorite hair products are.

Shampoo & Conditioner- Redken Color Extend
Moroccan Oil Treatment
Kenra 25 Volume Hair Spray
KQC Straightner
Conair Curling Wand

When I color my hair, I usually use Redken Shades EQ :-)

Currently, i'm a 3RV.... my husband likes when my hair has a red tinge to it.

Okay, enough about my hair!

See you all soon!
